Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to Howell County Criminal History. Browsing its pages, reading its material, or using a search feature signals acceptance of every condition stated here. A visitor who does not agree with these terms must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Howell County Criminal History is privately owned and has no connection to a municipal, county, state, or federal agency. This website and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant screening, or another purpose controlled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to identify public criminal-record resources for Howell County and Missouri. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

Howell County Criminal History is a private reference website, independent of every government office. It does not maintain official records, submit court papers, retrieve documents for visitors, or perform an official criminal history check.

The website identifies sources that hold Howell County records, including local law enforcement, the 37th Judicial Circuit, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. It may also link to outside tools that can assist with lawful personal research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Every visitor agrees to avoid the following conduct:

  • Using the website in violation of federal, Missouri, or local law
  • Threatening, harassing, or stalking a person with information found here
  • Using site content in a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Attempting to enter protected systems or obtain unauthorized access
  • Sending bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools through the pages
  • Interfering with website service or preventing another visitor from gaining access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information from Howell County Criminal History or a linked service to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct may also violate the law. This restriction is especially important for Missouri Sex Offender Registry data. Missouri publishes registry information for public safety awareness, not for confrontation, vigilantism, employment blacklisting, housing discrimination, or retaliation against a registrant.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Howell County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no consumer report, credit report, or official background check. Neither the website nor its advertising partners offers a tool designed to evaluate applicants, renters, insurance risk, or credit. Information from these pages or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Set insurance eligibility or a premium
  • Approve, deny, or price credit
  • Make a hiring, retention, or termination decision
  • Evaluate a rental or other housing application
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, benefit, or government program
  • Carry out any other action regulated by the FCRA

When an authorized purpose requires an official Missouri criminal history product, use the Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Division or a provider that meets all applicable FCRA duties.

5. No Legal Advice

Content on this website is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Howell County charge, conviction, warrant, closed record, or Missouri expungement law applies to one person's facts. Obtain advice about a specific matter from an attorney licensed in Missouri.

6. No Warranties

All pages and features are supplied "as is." Howell County Criminal History makes no promise that:

  • A partner search result will be complete or correct
  • Every page is free from defects, errors, or security weaknesses
  • The service will remain available without delay or interruption
  • Any item of information is current, complete, or accurate

Criminal-record status can change when a charge is filed, amended, dismissed, closed, or expunged. Repository reports can also differ from local police and court files. Content here must never be treated as an official statement from the Howell County circuit clerk, a law-enforcement agency, MSHP CJIS, or another government custodian.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to Missouri agencies, Howell County offices, court portals, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Following a link opens a service that Howell County Criminal History does not operate or control. The website accepts no responsibility for another provider's availability, prices, privacy practices, terms, or content. Review that provider's rules before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Howell County Criminal History or its content partners own the website's text, code, graphics, and logos. No one may reproduce, adapt, distribute, or create a derivative work from that material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, Howell County Criminal History is not responsible for loss or damage arising from access to the website, reliance on its content, or use of information obtained through a linked service.
